Land in Errachidia. Ride into the Sahara by sunset.

Just 2 hours from Moulay Ali Cherif Airport to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Skip the 9-hour drive from Marrakech and wake up where the desert begins.

Why Fly to Errachidia?

Most Sahara tours start 9 hours away in Marrakech. Yours starts here.

Errachidia's Moulay Ali Cherif Airport is the closest gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes — just 130 km, a scenic 2-hour drive through the Ziz Valley. While others spend their first day in a minivan, you're already on a camel watching the sun sink behind 150-metre dunes.

As a family-run Berber operator based in Merzouga, Trips Nomad has a home-ground advantage no Marrakech or Fes agency can match. We don't subcontract your experience — we live it.

Why Trips Nomad?

We're not a reseller. We're your neighbours in the dunes.

Berber family-owned and operated — Trips Nomad was born in Merzouga. Your guide grew up walking these dunes. When we share tea with a nomadic family, they're our relatives, not a photo stop.
Based at the edge of Erg Chebbi — We're already here. No subcontractors, no middlemen, no commission stops at carpet shops.
Less driving, more desert — While Marrakech-based tours spend 18+ hours in a vehicle, our Errachidia tours put you in the dunes in 2 hours. That's an extra day of Sahara for the same trip length.
Fully private tours — Your vehicle, your pace. No shared groups, no fixed schedule, no rushing past a view because someone else is bored.
Transparent pricing — What we quote is what you pay. No hidden fees, no surprise "mandatory" tips.

Frequently Asked Questions

Explore detailed answers to common inquiries about our unique Merzouga adventures, booking policies, and travel insights on our FAQ page.

How do I get to Errachidia?

Royal Air Maroc and Air Arabia operate domestic flights to Moulay Ali Cherif Airport (ERH) from Casablanca (1 hr). You can also fly direct from Casablanca and connect from major European and North American cities. We pick you up at the airport — you'll be on a camel by sunset.

Is 2 days really enough?

Yes — because you're starting so close. Two days from Errachidia gives you sunset, sunrise, a night in the camp, camel trekking, and cultural stops. It's the same desert experience that takes 3 days from Marrakech, minus the 18 hours of driving.

What if I don't want to ride a camel?

No problem. We can transfer you to the camp by 4×4 instead. Just let us know when booking.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes — vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals are available. Just tell us in advance.

What should I pack?

Light layers for daytime, a warm jacket for desert nights (they get cool even in summer), closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a scarf for sand, and a camera. Leave your large luggage in the vehicle — a small overnight bag is all you need at camp.

When is the best time to visit?

March–May and September–November offer perfect temperatures (20–28°C days, cool nights). Summer (June–August) is hot but tours run with adjusted schedules. Winter (December–February) brings cold nights but crystal-clear skies and fewer crowds.

Can I customize a tour?

Absolutely. Every Trips Nomad tour is private and flexible. Want an extra night in the desert? Prefer to end in a different city? Just ask — we'll build it around you.
